Creative State is an independent production company with a two-fold mission. We develop original and established stories for theatre, film and television whilst fostering acting and educational communities.

Creative State is a proud supporter of Aunties and Uncles.

Paul Caesar - I grew up in Bundaberg, a country town in Queensland, with five siblings and a wicked sense of humour. At 12 years old my passion for acting was sparked upon seeing a youth production of Raggedy Ann at the local Bundaberg Amateur Theatre. In the new year, my mum "encouraged" me to register as a 'Bundy Player'; my first role was as Louis Leonowens in The King and I in 1982. Needless to say, I was hooked.

Since graduating from the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1992 with a Bachelor of Dramatic Art in Acting, I have worked as an actor, writer and director. My professional credits range far and wide; I has worked on the television dramas Tricky BusinessAll SaintsHome and Away, and Water Rats, and my film performances include Crosslife, which premiered in June 2007 as a part of the Sydney Film Festival, and the Edgerton brothers film, The Square. My theatre credits include Edgar in King Lear with the Sydney Theatre Company.

Meanwhile, I have been prolifically writing, directing and producing my own material. My plays Redemption: Through the Eyes of Shakespeare (2008), Beth (2009), The Invalid Rehearsal (2010) and Grounded (2011) have all been performed by NIDA's Drama Studio. The latter three will be published in 2016 in my compilation, GRIT: 3 Plays for Teenagers - a publication that will join my 2010 work, Individual Performance: 20 Original Scripts for HSC Drama.

I share my knowledge and experience through coaching, workshops and showreel production where my natural knack for teaching in a straight-forward, experiential and accessible way has been inspiring and motivating students for 15 years.

In the midst of developing a TV pilot script, writing two feature films and playing in the short-film space, I look forward to seeing Creative State grow as a production company whilst expanding access avenues for actors.
